Guests from CO pin words of wisdom to the CARAA athletes
Athletes for the five- day sporting event were inspired and motivated by the words of wisdom pinned by guests from the Central Office (CO) during the opening program of the Cordillera Administrative Regional Athletic Association (CARAA) Meet 2019 at the Athletic Bowl of Apayao Eco- Tourism Sports Complex, Luna, Apayao, on February 27. Briones to CAR Athletes: “Do your very best”
“Compete to the best of your ability. This is an athletic meet, this is a competitive meet, compete to the best of your ability with each other. But do it with all honesty, do it with all courage and do it with all dignity.” DeEd Secretary Leonor “Liling” Magtolis Briones stressed in her keynote message.
However, she further explained that even they consider each other as competitor, a possible enemy, a rival, or an opponent, they should never forget that by the end of this meet, they will all be one representing CAR. (Jerlyn-Mae I. Balacang)
Villar to CAR Athletes: “The youth is the hope of the nation, the youth truly has a vital role in social transformation and nation building,”
Senator Cynthia A. Villar exclaimed in her message as she gave her opinion on the significance of this sporting event.
“Sports is a very good way to develop various discipline, teamwork, honesty sportsmanship and passion of excellence for the youth.” Senator Villar added. Thus, hopes that the participating student- athletes will greatly contribute to nation- building.
