Success is not always getting what you want, but it is on how you appreciate what you have.It’s the path were preparation and opportunity meet. Every athlete has the will to win. However, we cannot deny the fact that if there’s a winner there is also a loser. In the very first part, victory doesn’t choose a person; determination is what matters most.
Sports define who you are. You need to train yourself to know your own limits and goals. Self-discipline helps you achieve success, better and faster. It teaches you to work harder next time when you fail because not all the time victory is on hand. Show a respect to coaches is another thing to consider. Keeping the fact that they are the one who encourages you to strive harder and show the best you can be.
Kiss the soil where you stand. Consider yourself a beginner so you would know the steps to walk forward. Success doesn’t mean you are greater or higher than anyone else. Know your weaknesses and from those limitations it will make you better.
Live like a bamboo that sways on the music of the storm. An athlete is clever, smart and quick. They are quick in decision makings and able to learn new techniques in winning with just and enthusiasm. They are resilient to endure the tough conditions because when they fall, they bounce back to stand again.
Allow your interest to be your bride. Sports minded people have various reasons on why they have a passion for sports. Playing the game is not always looking for the prize. Honestly, none of us wanted to lose, we need a set of goals and complete it. Make the best of what you have, play not after the prize but play with a heart.
Write your name in the ground. Our experiences teach us to learn new things. How you play today is a history for tomorrow. Perhaps, it’s not about winning; it’s all about how you represent yourself in the game. Keep on going and don’t stop believing that at the end of the day you are not only carrying your name but you are carrying the banner of your identity as a player.
Color yourself with fairness. Sports develop a sense of camaraderie and graciousness. It’s a powerful tool which connects people regardless of differences towards the common objectives, beliefs and principles. Through healthy competition, sports influence the cultivation of will, perseverance, responsibility, ability to eliminate the inconvenience and others.
As an athlete, make the best of what makes you unique and shapes yourself with victory. Are you a true athlete? Then, have this poise.
