Powered with devastating attacks and shots fueled with strong determination, Apayao Eagles attained back to back champion title as they crushed the Abra Stallions in a Basketball Girls 3x3 Championship Game, 20-7, on Friday, March 1 at Bienvenido Verzola Gymnasium, Luna, Apayao. The marginal play came into powerful team defense of Apayao Eagles that downed Abra Stallions.
Althea Kate Baletbet, Rose Anne Pedronan, Zynthia Margarette Lappas and Reynalyn Pablo tasted an utter defeat but unstoppable move blasted off Stallions that bring a score of 8-2 in the remaining seven minutes and twenty-one seconds.
Deadly Stallions showed cooperation as they reversed the momentum for the team then meet a score at 9-4. The crucial play came right in the remaining three minutes and forty-four seconds.
The highly spirited Baletbet, Lappas and Pedronan dominated the game.
The crowd went wild with cheers and jeers as both team pressure each other. Dazed with the unprecedented attacks, Eagles bombarded Stallions with a devastating attacks and shots that shamed the latter. Losing early in the game, Stallions planned a destructive game but it went only into trashes. Eagles sustained their momentum in the face of the Stallions. Stallions tried to surpass the offensive attacks in the remaining one minute but they were submerged and drowned by the Eagles. In the last twenty seconds, starving for sweet victory, Eagles didn't think twice and left the Stallions extremely hopeless, 20-7.
"It was really a champion fight. All our efforts paid off," Baletbet said. "Our determination and defense worked" added Ceasar Galut, coach.
