The Abra Stallions outlasts the E-Lions, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18 in game 2 of the elementary volleyball girls in a thriller match held at the Tayum Bersamin Sports Complex on February 5.
Amidst the cheering crowd at the Tayum Bersamin Complex on Monday, the Abra Stallions proved to be the steadier team down the stretch as they outlasted the Baguio E-Lions in three thrilling sets, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18. The Stallions overwhelmed the E-Lions in crunch time to pull out the win for the game which lasted for almost an hour.
The Baguio E-Lions struggled against the Abra stallions with a 25-22 win in the opening set. But the Stallions made a big kick in the second frame as Stallion Klyne T. Batalla peppered the E-Lions with four consecutive service aces which forced them for a decider as they succumbed to errors, while Angeley T. Alfiler began to take change after a sluggish start of the game closing the second set with 25-20.
The Abra Stallions continuously surged to a fast win in the deciding frame with 25-18 as Torres of the E-Lions committed attack errors. This caused the stallions and spectators to loudly cheer for victory.
“Lahat sila magaling, they did their very best to win”, Brenda Grace Soriano, Abra Stallions Head Coach said in her interview. The Abra Stallions gained their coach’s trust while their trainer, Arnold Zumel spotted his cheers to the team during the game and his jump of happiness he had after winning.
This game impacted the teams’ morale as they are usually eliminated in the first games in the previous CARAA Meets and now they stood firm to show that they were fully equipped and well-trained to completely hold victory.
