Abra Stallions

Indeed, after the rigid and painstaking trainings of the basketball athletes, at last Abra Stallions attained the highest spot in the CARAA 2018 Basketball Elementary during the final match as they toppled Baguio E-Lions, 63-53, early morning, Thursday at Bangued East Central School gymnasium. Watched by hundreds of Abrenians and Baguio delegates, the Stallions illustrated their aggressiveness even in the first quarter finishing the game with a 10-point lead.

Renz Cyruz Gumidam, Stallion’s shooting guard, starred in the game contributing 16 points to the final score of the team while Johan Pagdato, team’s power forward, demonstrated his prowess during the game. The two hailed as best players of the Championship game.

Meanwhile, head coach Ballena thanked Congressman JB Bernos, Governor Joy Bernos and all those who helped and supported them for their success. Likewise, he expressed his gratitude to the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) trainers for pushing the team to be on top. Ericson Legaspi, team’s point guard, also conveyed his gratitude on behalf of the team to the governor, their parents, teachers, coaches and trainers for the love, support, understanding and guidance they have given them.

“Alay namin ang pagkapanalo namin sa buong probinsya ng Abra,” head coach Ballena exclaimed to end the interview.
